Services Departments
Business Development
The core function of the Business Development Department is to
identify, develop, and manage strategic relationships with local and
international clients and partners with the aim of expanding the
Company’s opportunities, capabilities and operations.
Business Development Department provides corporate development
support by identifying and assessing opportunities in our key
markets, and gathering in-depth intelligence on upcoming and
potential projects across the range of the Company’s operations.
We maintain and analyse customer records regarding satisfaction
levels and requirements in preparation for possible future
opportunities, also, assess the strengths and weaknesses of our
competitors in order to maintain our competitive positioning and
avoid potential threats in our markets.
The nature and breadth of our responsibilities mean that we have
detailed involvement in the Company’s strategic planning, as well as
in pre-qualification procedures for specific tenders, the creation
of brochures, website, Kharafi National's required branding &
marketing elements, public relations activities and events &
exhibitions.
In order to help the Company to maintain its leadership in very
competitive markets, Business Development Department has become a
non-stop, year-round process.

Finance & Accounting
Kharafi National’s Finance & Accounting Department operates to the
highest international standards, reporting all financial information
in accordance with International Financial Reporting (IFRS) and
Egyptian standards.
It is committed to developing systems that help businesses within
the company make decisions and monitor their progress, as well as
serving external customers and stakeholders.
Our Finance & Accounting Department mission is to manage our
shareholders’ equity and increase shareholder value. We provide
timely funding at the lowest cost, and financial advice at project
and departmental level by establishing and maintaining internal
checks and balances.
Insurance
Preserving and maintaining of company and our clients assets with capability of loss & damage compensation. Ensuring that all working staff is complying with insurance policies requirements and procedures.
Proposals and Tendering
The Proposals and Tendering Department operates principally during
tendering and proposal process the first stage in the project cycle.
It is responsible for analysing the detailed requirements for
potential projects encompassing scoping, planning, execution and
delivery in order to arrive at the most effective tendering and
costing proposals..
The Proposals Department manages the proposal cycle throughout the
Middle East and Africa and has responsibility for tenders from the
initial decision to bid, through offer preparation to the submission
of proposals.
We take a leading role in negotiations with clients, and after
contracts have been signed, we also organize the transition to the
operational phase.
Tendering activities begin with the assessment of a project’s key
elements and an analysis of the risks involved. Cost estimates for
materials, labour and direct and indirect costs are then drawn up.
For each opportunity these activities are undertaken by dedicated
project-based teams assembled from a pool of technical experts
within the relevant department, managed by a proposal coordinator.
Each team is supported by a number of other departments as
appropriate, typically including experts from across the business in
areas including legal, financial and insurance, quality, health and
safety, risk and human resources.
Contracts Administration
At our projects, the Contract Administrators work closely with the
Project Managers offering them timely contractual advice on
correspondence to avoid disputes, besides managing the team of site
quantity surveyors who are required to administer all subcontract
matters and prepare Employer's applications, variations,
re-measurements and Final Accounts.
In order to function effectively, Administration and Management of
Contracts & Agreements requires accurate data and consequently uses
Oracle’s ERP project module which is integrated with the Kharafi
National computerised accounting system.
The department phases are as follows:
- Pre-Award Contract Phase
- Post-Award Contract Phase
- Contract Execution Phase
- Close-Out Contract Phase
Project Control
KN’s Project Control Services department is responsible for
providing efficient and effective commercial and contractual
services to projects and the various Kharafi National departments.
This includes advising upon the implementation of our established
company procedures, risk evaluation and the early identification of
potential problems.
The department operates on a matrix organisational structure,
however Project Control staff are integrated within each project to
allow support and advice be delivered in real time and in an
informed and insightful manner.
In particular, we provide support and advice in the following areas:
Cost control
Our cost engineers monitor and maintain the project budget and
prepare the project forecast review reports.
Planning
Planning engineers are responsible for a range of activities
relating to initial project planning. Typically, these encompass:
- Establishing the work breakdown structure of the project, and
preparing the project plan and schedule - Establishing the reporting
system for each project in line with company procedures
- Collecting data and preparing daily, weekly and monthly reports
and using this data to analyse productivity.
Engineering
Kharafi National established a multi-disciplined Engineering
Department to manage all phases of engineering works efficiently and
effectively in providing specialised Engineering works in Power
Plant Engineering, Substation, Water and Waste water, General
Infrastructure, District Cooling Plants, and other MEP works.
The combination of the companies global resources and the
multi-faceted engineering capabilities allows Kharafi National to
deliver a world class service which in unparalleled in the region.
The skills set, experience and know how that was acquired over the
past 3 decades has allowed the company to position itself as a
preferred choice in the delivery of EPC and O&M works in the MENA
region.
The Egypt power projects, which were successfully completed during
the most challenging circumstances and time frame, are a testament
to the capability of Kharafi National’s engineering team to carry
out a project from concept to completion while integrating the
latest proven engineering and technology.
Procurement and Logistics
We operate an integrated Procurement and Logistics system which is
fully compliant with the requirements of IMS (Integrated Management
System) , covering national and international procurement and
subcontracting, logistics and transportation, vendor management,
procurement and control of materials, storage and inventory
management. This procurement system is implemented across all our
operational territories, and is responsible for all requisitions
from national and international approved suppliers.
Procurement and Logistics operations are entirely computerised and
fully integrated with the Company’s materials management system with
a central database providing real time online information on
vendors, purchase history and market trends.
We carry out strategic sourcing activities and online negotiations
with suppliers using the automated procurement workflow in Oracle’s
E-Business Suite ERP system.
The nature of our Procurement and Logistics resources, highly
experienced staff and strategy enable us to meet the demands of the
Company’s expanding volume of projects on time and for all
situations.
Store Administration & Material Control
Store Administration duties are to oversee the daily operations of
Main stores and projects .site stores in different location
They provide project assistance, monitor inven - tory, storage
requirements and facilities and make performance assessments of
material control staff and store keepers
KN Using ERP system to facilitate generating stores and material
tracking reports and on time sharing of information between Procure
- ment and Finance departments
Information Technology
Ensuring that the ERP connection is working efficiently in the
different project locations.
Implementing a full communication solution to facilitate the
communication between Head office and other company locations,
networking project site offices and creating a data link to head
office. Manage and maintain computers and softwares.
Quality, Health, Safety and Environment
Kharafi National is committed to continually improve and apply
applicable requirements to its Integrated Management System (IMS)
according to the latest ISO standards, (ISO 9001-2015&ISO
45001-2018&ISO 14001- 2015 and ISO 41001-2018) to conduct the scope
of various types of business operation lines based on the process
approach and risk based thinking which leads to better
sustainability by rationalization of resources, decreasing the
environmental impacts and carbon foot print of its business
activities as well as prevention of pollution, ill health and
injuries.
We have in place a well-established Integrated Management System,
based on the latest international ISO standards.
INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
Kharafi National shall establish, implement, maintain and continually improve the Integrated Management System including the processes needed and their interactions in accordance with the requirements of this manual.

Office Services
Is to ensure efficient management of head office facilities for the
smooth running of the offices to be adequate with KN standards.
Ensure periodic inspection and maintenance of the office facilities.
Supporting facilities such as a housekeeping, cleaning, buffet,
stationary machines and providing refreshments to meeting under the
establishment mechanism for requesting different services.
Security
Kharafi National Security Department develops and implements the
Company ‘s security policy based upon critical and accessory
functions for each facility within the organization.
Supervise in-house as well as third party security staff stationed
at various facilities.
The Department challenge is to provide the highest level of security
services through risk management, manned security, security
training, security systems and technology event management to meet
the company’s security requirements, its projects and clients.
